Since 2015 Wigan GP Alliance has been supporting both Primary and Secondary Care across the Borough of Wigan:

Extended Access - Providing clinical appointments at evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. We now also offer cervical screening appointments at weekends and Bank Holidays. In 2016 we brought our telephony service from being externally sourced to an in-house call centre.

Out of Hours - The Alliance works together with Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Foundation Trust (WWL) to deliver the Boroughs Out of Hours service. This provides Primary Care services to the Boroughs residents when General Practice is closed.

Secondary Care - The Alliance supports WWL when they need Primary Care services and clinicians. Over the last 3 years we have worked together for the Alliance to be able to reduce Primary Care needs across WWL sites.
